Finding My Voice Again
After years of feeling unheard in my own community, a small writing circle gave me the courage to speak up again — and to listen to others doing the same.
Background
I moved to a new town where I knew no one, and for a long time I kept to myself, unsure how to reach out.
A turning point
A neighbour invited me to a weekly writing circle at the local library. I almost said no.
Finding community
The group turned out to be a mix of people from all walks of life, all a little nervous, all willing to share.
What changed
I started looking forward to Tuesdays. Writing my own story helped me finally feel part of the town.
You don’t need the right words to start — you just need one small step toward other people.
